Importance of Feed Processing Technology to Animal Feed

animal feed production process

The animal feed industry has come to this day, and we have seen that the animal feed is developing in the direction of making animals grow healthily and rapidly, and maximizing the production performance of animals. Although feed formulation design plays a decisive role in feed products, it does not mean that good feed formulation can produce high quality feed products. In order to improve the production performance of feed to a greater extent, it is necessary to skillfully use the combination of formulation and technology while designing high-quality formulation. Feed processing technology has an undeniable impact on the quality of feed products. In this paper, the crushing and ripening processes are briefly described.

1. Crush.

Crushing is a necessary process in feed processing. The quality of crushing not only affects the processing quality of subsequent processes and the quality of final products, but also affects the sensory quality and feeding effect of products. The fineness and homogeneity of crushing have the greatest impact on the quality of feed products. The higher the grinding fineness, the larger the surface area of feed, the greater the interface between digestive enzymes and feed in digestive tract, the higher the digestibility of feed nutrients, the lower the probability of digestive tract diseases in animals, so the greater the role of feed in promoting animal production. For the follow-up process, the higher the homogeneity of crushing, the higher the homogeneity of mixing.

2. Ripening

The ripening process of feed usually includes granulation, expansion, extrusion ripening and so on. Different raw materials have different nutritional structure, so different ripening parameters have different effects on nutritional structure. Expansion and expansion ripening were used to analyze maize. Some active ingredients in Maize (such as vitamin C) had lower damage to active nutrients in maize, but similar damage to toxic factors or growth inhibition in feed. However, in the process of processing, starch overripening will have a negative impact on animal intestinal tract, resulting in reduced feed performance. Soybean meal is one of the main sources of vegetable protein feed. In order to increase the use of soybean protein in feed, appropriate measures must be taken to inactivate and passivate soybean anti-nutrient factors. Temperature must be strictly controlled in the ripening process.
